Think you can sing?
Then enter the Janesville Idol contest as part of Independence Day on the Rock on July 4 at Traxler Park in Janesville, Wisconsin.
The competition starts at 3:00 PM. Entrants should meet on the RAJ main stage at 2:45 PM to check-in and turn in any accompanying karaoke tracks. (Entries on the day of the contest will only be accepted if there are available spots.)
Here are the requirements and rules:
- Must be age 12 or older
- Have a song prepared - play and sing your own music or provide accompanying karaoke track
- No profanity or vulgar songs (the judges reserve the right to stop your performance)
- Should be open to the possibility of being voted out before you even finish
- Duos, trios and other size groups are acceptable
No entry fee. It is free of charge to enter this contest.
The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to Knapton Musik and the option to perform the National Anthem prior to the Rock Aqua Jays show in front of a crowd of about 4,000 people.
The runner-up will receive a $50 gift certificate to Knapton Musik and the option to perform the National Anthem prior to the Rock Aqua Jays show if the winner opts out of doing so.
